Discovering Cairo After the Revolution

Beyond Tahrir gave participants the opportunity to explore and learn about Cairo over and above the headlines of the 25 January Revolution. This fascinating journey traversed the many complexities and contradictions of this ancient city and introduced visitors to the communities, initiatives and leaders who are re-shaping the 'Mother of the World' and even Egypt itself.
Experiences included a forum with independent media body Egyptian Streets, an industrial ecology tour through the Manshiyat Nasser community, a roundtable discussion and downtown walking tour with urban design laboratory CLUSTER and a faith dialogue in Coptic Cairo with Jewish Community of Cairo President Magda Haroun.
The Parisian architecture and layout of Midan Talaat Harb remain a center of activity in Downtown Cairo and the greater city.
CLUSTER Co-founder Omar Nagati shares the projects of the urban design laboratory with MyEGYPT guests.
An afternoon stroll along Cairo's famed corniche reveals a calm current and breathtaking skies.
